New improved capstan support 2026 update ​July 29, replaces Capstan guiding

Previous version has not been so durable overtime, this version will last much better.
This extra pressure roller ensures that the capstan wheel never loses grip on the film. It is possible to increase the speed during scanning when the film slips less. The spring in the picture is taken from a ballpoint pen. The pressure roller should have the same tape as the capstan wheel. The spring must be tensioned so much that the pressure rollers get a good grip on the film, even if the winder wheel does not pull, the capstan will feed the film.

Sand the underside a little so it slides.

Capstan-extra-A.stl is screwed in with the same screws 
that hold the stepper motor.

First apply double-sided adhesive tape. Then tape such as those used on the Tennis and badminton racket to get a firm grip with your hand.   Such tape has high friction and it is important on the capstan wheel. If you need to change the tape, it will be easy as it is adhesive tape.

Distance to stepper motor seen from below, should sit on top of stepper motor so it has a flat surface and the shaft is lowered.
