T-Scann 8 - project page
Super 8 / Regular 8 film scanner
Top plate ver 3
Chassis plate ver 3 has the option of 180 meter wheels compared to the previous 120 meter wheels.
Ver 3 is made for the latest updates on T-Scann 8.
It is quite easy to move stepper motors
on both sides if the need arises to scan 180 meter films. If
stepper motors are in the 180 m holes and only 120 m films are used, the
wheels will stick out a little. Hole pattern is offset 20mm to the
sides.
This is a drill template, print it on A3 paper (or
the right size if you have access to such a printer) it is larger than
A3 paper but enter the dimensions on the left side to put it in the
right place on the plate.
Attach the holes in the edges can be measured out in the right place.
There is a Swedish company scandcut. They can manufacture this Top plate at a reasonable price.

This hole is for the camera's flat cable to fit
NOTE!
If material other than metal is used, then extra cooling for the Cree
LED must be arranged as this will be quite hot and will break over time.
NOTE! On top plate must be used for box ver-3. Then mounting holes 3 mm in the corners are not needed
